PDOs

Domaine Daurion's AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protégée) Languedoc range is quite unique. The basalt, the black rock on which our vines rest, comes from a lava flow originating from a volcano called La Baume, the latest in the Massif Central chain of volcanoes. This rare volcanic soil is of exceptional quality, both in terms of yield and the generosity it imparts to our wines. We are one of the few estates in Occitanie to benefit from this geological situation.
A historic event is underway: this terroir is so unique that a new PDO is being born before our very eyes: Languedoc Pézenas! The future flagship of the appellation, like the prestigious Terrasses du Larzac or Pic Saint Loup. This appellation is about to make a name for itself. In addition to the cultural richness of the city of Pézenas, where viticulture dates back to the time of the first Romans, the special feature of this land is the famous basaltic lava flow.
There are a very limited number of "volcanic wines" in the world, and Daurion is privileged to have its feet firmly on them. A natural signature that makes our wines treasures to be discovered!
