Freshness, precision, and an expression of the terroir are at the heart of the estate’s new identity

For several vintages now, Domaine Daurion has been undertaking a comprehensive effort to establish a more distinct and contemporary identity for its entire range of wines.

This evolution is driven by a clear goal: to produce organic wines that fully express the terroirs of Pézenas while meeting the current expectations of consumers and industry professionals, both in France and internationally.

Under the technical direction of Laurent Doyle, Director of Operations and Winemaker, the work carried out in the vineyards and in the winery focused on achieving freshness, aromatic precision, and balance.

Every stage of the winemaking process has been reimagined with this standard in mind: choosing harvest dates, selecting vineyard plots, managing ripeness, ensuring precision in winemaking, crafting blends, and tailoring the aging process to the identity of each cuvée.

Wines that are more precise and easier to understand

Today, white wines are distinguished by their freshness, vibrancy, and aromatic expression, with a constant pursuit of balance between intensity, finesse, and length on the palate.

These rosés emphasize lightness, freshness, and richness, in a Mediterranean style that pairs equally well with appetizers and fine dining.

Red wines are evolving toward more elegant and balanced profiles, with well-integrated tannins, greater fruit expression, and a measured use of aging techniques. The goal is not to mask the wine, but to complement its structure and reveal the identity of Pézenas’s volcanic terroirs.

This approach also helps to ensure greater consistency across the estate’s various lines, from Pays d’Oc IGP wines to Languedoc AOP and Languedoc Pézenas AOP vintages.

Results that confirm this direction 

The awards recently received confirm the soundness of this new direction and the consistent quality of the various wines produced by Domaine Daurion. In particular, the white, rosé, and red wines have been recognized atthe Decanter World Wine Awards—one of the industry’s most prestigious international competitions—as well as at theConcours Mondial de Bruxelles,the IWS, and the Concours Mondial de Blaye, confirming their ability to impress international juries and tasters from various markets. These accolades complement the estate’s other achievements, notably at the Concours des Féminalise and in the Guide Hachette des Vins.

The diversity of the award-winning vintages—white, rosé, and red—highlights the consistency of the work undertaken across the entire range. It confirms Daurion’s new signature: fresh, precise, balanced, and food-friendly wines that express their origin while meeting the expectations of French and international markets.

Beyond the medals, these results are, above all, a recognition of the hard work done in the vineyards and in the winery by the estate’s entire team.

An identity set to grow stronger

This new signature is not an end in itself, but rather a long-term direction.

Domaine Daurion will continue this work over the coming vintages, with the aim of further enhancing the wines’ precision, the expression of the various plots, and the consistency of each cuvée.
